These requirements apply to both US citizens and non US citizens.

1)    Both parties must appear in person before a Clerk at a Clark County Marriage Bureau. (Located at

2)    Must be at least 18 years old.

3)    The couple must be a biological male and a biological female.

4)    You need proper forms of identification to prove your name and age. Click here for a PDF document of what the Clark County accepts as proper forms of ID.

5)    The cost for the marriage license is $60. You can pay with cash, credit/debit, check, travelers check. If you do pay with a credit card, you will incur in an additional $5.15 fee.

So, that’s pretty much it! The State of Nevada does not require a blood test. Please keep in mind that a marriage license allows you to get married in Nevada. It does not mean that you ARE married.

Now, with your marriage license in hand it’s time to get married! You can get married right away, since there is no waiting period. If you can’t get married right away, you have up to one year to do so.

You’ll need to find a wedding officiant WHO IS AUTHORIZED by the State of Nevada. The way to find a wedding officiant depends on where you want to have your ceremony. Any chapel of your choice will have a minister available, even when doing ‘desk ceremonies’, where you basically just walk through the door (even without prior appointment) and ask to be married. You will pay a fee for the ceremony; the chapel then records your license with the county within 10 days. Once recorded, you are officially married.

If you plan to get married anywhere that is not a chapel, you can pick your own wedding officiant. When you find a wedding officiant you like, make sure they are licensed in Nevada to solemnize ceremonies. You can look up officiates by name right here:

If your wedding officiant appears in the search results, he/she is licensed to perform marriages in Nevada.

For non U.S. citizens, some foreign countries require a copy of the marriage license and/or an apostille to register a marriage. You should check with your country, and find out if you need an apostille so that you can legally register your marriage.

Now, you can even skip the long lines at the Marriage Bureau. Use their online Marriage Pre Application. This feature will save you a lot of time. Once you complete it, you can present it along with the proper forms of ID, and make use of an express window.
